Can you stop a murder after it’s already happened?
Late October. After midnight. You’re waiting up for your eighteen-year-old son. He’s past curfew. As you watch from the window, he emerges, and you realize he isn’t alone: he’s walking toward a man, and he’s armed.
You can’t believe it when you see him do it: your funny, happy teenage son, he kills a stranger, right there on the street outside your house. You don’t know who. You don’t know why. You only know your son is now in custody, his future shattered.
That night you fall asleep in despair. All is lost.
Until you wake . . .
. . . and it is yesterday.
And then you wake again . . .
. . . and it is the day before yesterday.
Every morning you wake up a day earlier, another day before the murder. With another chance to stop it. Somewhere in the past lies an answer. The trigger for this crime—and you don’t have a choice but to find it . . .
“Another ingeniously plotted genre-bender… McAllister succeeds in making us care, and the result is a tour de force.” — The Guardian
“This entertaining look at motherhood and memory will resonate with many." — Publishers Weekly

My first by this author.
Twists & turns from beginning to end. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great story, very engaging. well-crafted characters and exciting plot. Loved the narration.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I have zero bad things to say about this book. Jen is so relatable, as a mother and as a woman. The story has a massive twist that I was not expecting. I loved listening to this book.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I suspect the author is actually a very good writer but for me there was way too much maternal angst and the time loop plot device just didn’t work for me.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I cannot think of one single fault in this book!
What it's got:
✔ Family drama
✔ Time travel
✔ Organized Crime
✔ Undoing a murder ?
✔ Sleuthing
✔ True love
✔ Secrets
What it's not:
? Repetitive (aka Groundhog day)
? Predictable
? Scary - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5It had an interesting twist. Enjoyed listening to the book.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great book with a huge twist. A must read book.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Very original story! From the way the scenes are set you will never guess what's next...until everything starts falling into place.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book was amazing. Highly recommend if you enjoy a good mystery with twist and turns you will never see coming.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5It started to drag for about 30 pages after the midpoint but overall, it's a great story.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The description of this book did not initially interest me. I thought it would be more Groundhog Day like (the movie). It was one of the best books I’ve ever read. The storytelling style was unique yet not too confusing. This book had compelling characters and a plot that managed to weave together themes of of romance, familial and parental love, thriller, crime, mystery, and even some humor in a way that kept me enthralled throughout the end. There were several great twists. Comparatively speaking – think Harlan Coban novels and books like The Silent Patient and Local Woman Missing good. I highly recommend this book to all readers. The summary description does not do it justice. This book has something for everyone
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Excellent! Nothing at all like the movie Groundhogs Day, thankfully. Very well written and narrated.
